With more than one million books and periodicals in over 50 languages, the collection includes works from the 16th century to the latest publications in print and electronic form. Around one million volumes occupy 15 miles of open-access shelves at The London Library which includes two reading rooms for quiet reading and research. Membership is open to all and more than 97 per cent of the books are available for loan. With books dating from the 16th century to the latest publications in print and electronic form, there’s plenty to browse through – from reference works to back issues of all the major daily newspapers.
